I am a seasoned developer of new health care programs, products and tools, responsible for taking them from early-stage concepts and shepherding them through the development process. I have a unique combination of product development skills, operational know-how and leadership capabilities that are essential at the beginning stages of a new concept. As a key leader in UnitedHealth Group’s Enterprise Research and Development group, our team works on the design and implementation of an extensive portfolio of innovative programs that aim to improve health care quality and access, reduce costs and modernize the health care system. Our ideas, some pursued in partnership with academic researchers or community organizations, have included new consumer incentive models to encourage healthy behaviors, health service designs that offer individuals access to effective clinical interventions, new approaches to improve chronic disease management, new care delivery models in non-traditional settings and solutions for high-cost drugs, devices and treatments. Specific examples of past projects which I led include the developed JOIN for ME, a childhood obesity intervention; the Xbox/Kinect study evaluating the effectiveness of adding gaming to a childhood obesity treatment program; the Project NOT ME Virtual Diabetes Prevention Program; Expect with Me, a scalable group prenatal care model, created in partnership with Yale University; and Guroo, a publicly available health care cost and quality transparency tool, created in partnership with the non-profit Health Care Cost Institute. I began my health care career at an early stage start-up company and now leverage my diverse skill set within one of the largest organizations in the world. With eleven years of experience across the UnitedHealth Group enterprise and a 25-year professional career, I have the ability to design, build, lead, launch and scale innovative and winning products and services.
